After a long time searching for a new all mtn board i decidet for the mountain twin and allready after my first ride i was convinced that i have made a good decision. Very very stoked with this board. Powder: Would of loved to see -15mm or even -20mm set back instead of a -10mm set back but its not been tested in powder by us. It just saysyeahokIm in. Office No.042-37245953 Ali Akbar 0300-4103013 info@maccatraders.com Switch: Really good switch and just a little shy of a true twin. So the 2018 review still stands and the changes weren't big enough to tax Jones to borrow the board again. The highest score was 92.1/100. Turning Experience: Once its over on edge turning this board is pretty fun and the sidecut seems to like all kinds of turning radius. We thought this had a centered stance during the demos but we were wrong. Im probably in the minority by saying that Id like to see the camber extended a bit to lock in and spring out of the turn better. For jumping, this board has a nice, predictable pop to it. I have 1 seasons experience boarding and many years experience skiing. It also depends on your boot size and where you ride the majority of the time. Also the nose length is longer than the tail length. Its the kind of board that can butter, carve, ollie, ride switch all over the mountain. They narrowed the stance width considerably. Jumps: Really strong pop on the mountain as well as a good board to hit kickers with. It's a middle of the road park board flex. If you are driving hard wall to wall and going bigger its all about the Ghost but this is great for most. Pipe:One of those boards thats forgiving, has solid edge hold and drives well from wall to wall. I think the extra volume in the nose will help though but Im not sure how much. The YES Standard has a directional volume twin shape that acts pretty much like a true twin when on reference stance. Bindings: Burton Diode This stick has been and still is amazing. Days: 1 Many boards personalities change acording to the conditions but the Jones Mountain Twin does not and thats hard to do in this hybrid world of snowboards. Super easy to skid a turn and it works for just about any ability level rider. With the stance set all the way back it can be a pretty good very easy floating powder board. Pipe: We have ridden a lot of pipe with the Jones Mountain Twin and like it. The Jones Mountain Twin has a medium flex between the bindings with a little softer flex in the nose. It takes some work to butter. Boots: Burton Fiend LTD Theyhad a centered stance and a very small camber between the feet that ended before the binding inserts. 519.00. The Jones isnt a chunder buster but its pretty good passing through a tracked out snow line without getting messy or bucking you. The Twin's shape features blunt tips for reduced swing weight, Traction Tech edges . Curbside Pickup Available NOW! For example, the 156 used to have a 23 reference stance and now 23.1 is a wide as you can get on the standard inserts. In the smaller sizes, it works well with under size 10 boots but again the stance width options are limited and on the narrow side. We did not notice a difference with the centered stance. Edge Hold: Really strong grip without being grabby. Jones Mountain twin Capita DOA Yes standart I usually ride on piste (I love to play with the board/switch a bit, and go on and of in the piste-on the sides). Edge Hold: I thought it should have a mellow magnetraction thing that many Yes boards use to have but its not that necessary as I thought it would be. yes standard vs jones mountain twin . After having ridden park boards, an old Rossi, and a few various brands, I took the plunge and bought the Twin. This is about as close as a board can get to being a quiver of one. Jones Mountain Twin vs. Capita Mercury - Which Should You Ride? Its like there is a long extension of the edge at the middle of the board and the rest is almost un-noticable. For example if you get the 156 and have a 23 wide stance then the set back inserts will work for you. It increases edge hold and improves turn initiation for a board of a wider width underfoot. It doesnt feel like its super stiff like boards of old but instead it feels like there is a rubbery bit of insulation. 163: 10-11 So before the Jones Mountain Twin was bordering on the slow side of medium. Switch: The tip and tail have different shapes but the contact with the snow is a twin so other than buttering its practically perfect switch. On Snow Feel: Very aggressive and all about bombing the hill regular or switch. In comparison to all the other YES all mountain boards this is really easy to butter. You add all this rocker and the tail with less surface area you get a little bit of that tapered feel in powder that freeride boards have. Hard to say but there is still a mellow disruption in the sidecut similar to the older model. Well its kind of centered. Wood Cores vary in weight so your board could weigh less or more. Shreddit - For snowboarders & those who love snowboards. Feels Normal bordering on light. It feels more like a 3 and it can butter now. ** The 2015 Jones Mountain Twin is not centered. Jibbing: Its a little on the stiff side for jibbing but you can make it happen. The stiffness was right between the burton and the capita but it wasn't as stiff as I expected it to be based on the websites 7/10 rating. With the 158 its 23.5 and with the 154 its 22.5 and so on. Its an easy ride one footing off a chair or flat basing on a long flat run. Also the stance width is pretty narrow this year at a 21.5 reference stance. Flex/Pop/Buttering: Its got a pretty mediumish flex across the board but on snow, the tip/tail feel softer. The 2021 Jones Mountain Twin has a longer effective edge and spoon tech in the nose tail making it for an easier turning poppier ride than past models. Skidded Turns: The rocker in the tip/tail makes the Yes Standard very easy to skid out if you get off your game. Im always really confident even in icy conditions. Especially those that ride in harder snow. We didn't ride 2020 Jones Mountain Twin but other than a change to a more eco-friendly resin and a slightly updated core it's the same ride as before. YES Standard 2015-2022 Snowboard Review - The Good Ride Capita's Death Grip and Yes' Mid-bite are essentially polar opposites of one another. Centered for more all mountain freestyle riding and directional for powder or more directional all mountain riding. He is less park, more riding and smaller jumps. Hitting kickers is very predictable and stable. Its a different feel and has a little more dynamic/snappy ride than before. We do make money from the Where To Buy links, but this is our best attempt at an honest and objective review from an average riders perspective. Here are the differences: So the changes that made to the Standard this year give it more of an aggressive all mountain freestyle flavor this year than before. Almost excellent grip and just a shade behind YES underbite technology. Well at least it did a great job for us. Other than that the Jones Mountain Twin floats almost as well or almost as well as many dedicated powder boards. So its great from a natural feature on the mountain to a medium-ish to a big kicker in the park. Tbh the extra price might be worth it for the performance, and I mean you wont need another snowboard for a while after that. Its got a very smooth cruisingtype of personality that blends with a wide variety of riders and really defines the one board quiver ride well. That combined with the early rise rocker in the nose gives much better float than most mountain freestyle twins that have minimal set back on board that is often closer to 1 back from the center of the board. Days: 4 So if you are ok with the mid-level pop it has a very consistent personality in all conditions and it still remains one of the best one board quivers you can get your hands on these days. I regretted not riding that board first immediately. Nothing out of the ordinary but it can ollie rather well. Then with a set back of -20mm its kind of a stretch for Jones to call this a twin. I constantly spend my time trying to match the right waist width to the right boot size so Id like to see more waist widthsfor such a great board. cbp ufce authorized equipment list. June 7, 2022 . It seems like one of those boards thats better than camber for sure but more for the rider that knows how to plane well, keep their speed and really own a powder day even with a camber board. 2018 Yes Standard vs. 2017 Yes Standard. Still this is going to be a fun ride in powder. For the rider who rides in hard to soft and onlyoccasionalice you will be more than happy with the edge hold. The 2015 Jones Mountain Twin is very much like the 2014 except it has a lighter more lively core. I'm fairly experienced. You can easily spend a whole day lapping the pipe with the Jones. Its still a bit stiffer torsionally than the past models but they are not as stiff as the 2018 demo we tried. Its not enough to take away from feel of the board but just enough to make it feel damp without not being dead. Then it gets a bump width-wise at 156-159 and it makes it a great board for those 10-12 boots. The extra rocker in the nose takes away some camber from the profile that could of made it a better carver but then you sacrifice some float in powder. Its got a very diverse personality that can fit a wide range of riders and it does everything very well. The rubbery personality of the YES Standard is good for creating a nice protection layer for all that is happening underfoot when you ride. Jumps: Really solid pop and great for those who like to get big air. The YES Standard is lacking pop and a satisfying turning experience but is a buttery, forgiving, grippy and good floating ride. Its also not super unforgiving on small to mid jumps either. The 156 and 153 both had a bouncy nose/tail but a base with above average glide. Buttering: For the flex, you would think the Jones Mountain Twin would be tough to butter but its pretty easy and fun. Its just another improvement on the existing ride. However, for Jimbo and Zobel the 158w is for sure the call. If your boots match the width its a great board to turn.
